It preserves tab names, the current working directory, and even the shell history. The Terminal saves tabs and sessions when you close the project or IntelliJ IDEA. To run multiple sessions inside a tab, right-click the tab and select Split Vertically or Split Horizontally in the context menu. Initially, the terminal emulator runs with your default system shell, but it supports many other shells, such as Windows PowerShell, Command Prompt cmd.exe, sh, bash, zsh, csh, and so on.
